Tips for Writing an HR CV in Kenya
State your IHRM (Institute of Human Resource Management) membership status clearly — many Kenyan employers, particularly larger corporates, expect active IHRM membership for HR roles at officer level and above. Quantify your recruitment and retention metrics wherever possible, since HR CVs are judged on measurable operational impact just as much as sales or finance CVs are.
Explicitly mention familiarity with the Employment Act 2007 and relevant statutory compliance (NSSF, NHIF, PAYE). This is a baseline expectation for HR roles in Kenya and its absence from a CV can raise questions.
