Tips for Writing a Nursing CV in Kenya

Your NCK registration number is the single most important item on your nursing CV. Include it prominently in your header. Any hospital or health facility will verify this before shortlisting. Always ensure your registration is active and up to date before applying.

💡 MOH Applications

For Ministry of Health and county government nursing positions, applications go through the county Public Service Board. Always include your NCK certificate copy, BLS/ACLS certificates and your degree/diploma certificate in your application package.

What Kenyan Hospitals Look For in Nurse CVs

  • Active NCK registration number (non-negotiable)
  • BLS certification — most hospitals require this as a minimum
  • Specific ward or clinical area experience (ICU, theatre, maternity, paediatrics)
  • Patient ratios managed (shows workload capacity)
  • Any quality improvement or infection control initiatives you led
  • Languages spoken — especially useful in community health settings
